Middle School (Math & Science)
Omar grew up in Whittier, CA. At a young age God gave him a love for teaching and helping others. In his teenage years he led small bible studies for his church’s youth group and participated in mission trips to Tijuana, Mexico to help translate and build homes for families in need.
After high school Omar wanted to become an engineer, but quickly realized the Lord wanted him to pursue a career in teaching instead. He took a job as a one-on-one aide for Special Education, and later as a bilingual teacher’s aide while earning a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Mathematics from Cal Poly Pomona. With a renewed view of the call in his life to teach and mentor, he pursued a Teaching Credential and a Master’s Degree in Mathematics from Claremont Graduate University.
Omar has taught four years of middle school math, and five years of high school math in the Colton Joint Unified School district. He, his wife Stephany, and their four children have been attending Wildwood for five years where they have served in Children’s Ministry and in the Prayer Ministry. Omar’s favorite activities include making up silly bedtime stories for his kids, hiking, and fishing. He looks forward to teaching and discipling the many youth that God will bring through WCA year after year.
